Lauren Hinds is a cartoonist and bookbinder living in Trinidad and Tobago. She began her career as a freelance illustrator with the Trinidad Guardian and during that time she pursued a three-year diploma in graphic design and a two-year certificate in bookbinding at the John Donaldson Technical Institute in Trinidad (renamed the University of Trinidad and Tobago Creative Campus). After working as a graphic designer and bookbinder for a number of years, she decided to pursue her other passions: drawing and writing comics. She travelled to Vermont to study at the Center for Cartoon Studies and graduated in 2010. She completed her B.A. in English Literature with a Minor in Film Studies (2019) at The University of the West Indies in Trinidad and Tobago. She creates comics about pre-teens and teens and enjoys developing and experimenting with ideas and stories for her comics in her sketch books.
